Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Telecoms & IT and Building & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 2.39% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Gamesa (MC:GAM), which rose 5.55% or 0.870 points to trade at 16.535 at the close. Meanwhile, FCC (MC:FCC) added 4.57% or 0.294 points to end at 6.734 and Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA) was up 1.27% or 0.061 points to 4.867 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 10.39% or 0.335 points to trade at 2.889 at the close. Sacyr (MC:SCYR) declined 5.88% or 0.084 points to end at 1.344 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was down 5.70% or 0.086 points to 1.424.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 162 to 33 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) fell to all time lows; losing 10.39% or 0.335 to 2.889.
Gold for April delivery was down 0.11% or 1.30 to $1196.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.76% or 0.82 to hit $28.87 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 4.68% or 1.54 to trade at $31.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 1.19% to 1.1326, while EUR/GBP rose 0.73% to 0.7812.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.04% at 95.75.
