Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Goods and Building & Construction sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 2.04% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA), which fell 0.10% or 0.10 points to trade at 105.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Amadeus IT (MC:AMA) fell 0.14% or 0.055 points to end at 38.230 and Acciona (MC:ANA) was down 0.39% or 0.310 points to 78.860 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 5.31% or 0.203 points to trade at 3.619 at the close. FCC (MC:FCC) declined 4.71% or 0.281 points to end at 5.690 and Sacyr (MC:SCYR) was down 4.60% or 0.098 points to 2.034.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 189 to 20 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) fell to all time lows; falling 5.31% or 0.203 to 3.619. Shares in FCC (MC:FCC) fell to 52-week lows; losing 4.71% or 0.281 to 5.690.
Gold for February delivery was down 0.19% or 2.00 to $1073.20 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.32% or 0.12 to hit $37.53 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.63% or 0.26 to trade at $40.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.41% to 1.0879, while EUR/GBP rose 0.72% to 0.7250.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.23% at 98.50.
