Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Technology and Software & Computer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 1.53% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Altice NV (AS:ATCA), which rose 2.70% or 0.33 points to trade at 12.38 at the close. Meanwhile, TNT Express (AS:TNTE) added 0.01% or 0.001 points to end at 7.731 and Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN) was down 0.33% or 0.07 points to 19.59 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 5.31% or 0.20 points to trade at 3.62 at the close. Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) declined 2.77% or 1.11 points to end at 39.13 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) was down 2.70% or 0.340 points to 12.275.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 153 to 21 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) fell to 5-year lows; losing 5.31% or 0.20 to 3.62.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.60% to 23.03.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.27% or 0.10 to $37.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.60% or 0.24 to hit $40.48 a barrel, while the February Gold contract fell 0.20% or 2.10 to trade at $1073.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.0878, while EUR/GBP rose 0.71% to 0.7249.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.25% at 98.49.
