Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Chemicals, Utilities and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite lost 1.34% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Lykos Inform. (AT:LYKr), which rose 9.80% or 0.05 points to trade at 0.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Iaso (AT:IASr) added 6.52% or 0.030 points to end at 0.490 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was up 4.93% or 0.034 points to 0.724 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Creta Plastics (AT:PLAKR), which fell 8.70% or 0.50 points to trade at 5.25 at the close. Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) declined 8.57% or 0.006 points to end at 0.064 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) was down 6.08% or 0.33 points to 5.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 73 to 24 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alpha Bank (AT:ACBr) fell to all time lows; losing 8.57% or 0.006 to 0.064.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.26% or 2.80 to $1083.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 1.52% or 0.62 to hit $40.12 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 2.78% or 1.24 to trade at $43.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.0723, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.7055.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.38% at 99.26.
