Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, Services and Investment Trust sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.18%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) added 24.95% or 12.50 points to end at 62.60 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was up 24.82% or 10.30 points to 51.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 14.29% or 0.10 points to trade at 0.60 at the close. Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) declined 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA) was down 10.12% or 80.50 points to 715.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 142 to 79 and 13 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 50.00% or 0.100 to 0.300. Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; falling 14.29% or 0.10 to 0.60.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.03 to $45.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.47% or 0.23 to hit $48.30 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.38% or 4.40 to trade at $1170.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 1.51% to 221.080, while USD/LKR rose 2.18% to 143.710.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 96.50.
