Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 2.97% or 0.3600 points to trade at 12.5000 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 2.61% or 0.3600 points to end at 14.1600 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 0.91% or 0.0100 points to 1.1080 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 3.70% or 0.0007 points to trade at 0.0182 in late trade. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 3.03% or 0.0220 points to end at 0.7050 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) shed 2.01% or 0.1460 points to 7.1140.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 24 to 17 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for September delivery was down 2.51% or 1.29 to $50.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.39% or 1.19 to hit $48.69 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.61% or 8.05 to trade at $1318.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.1063, while EUR/GBP rose 0.81% to 0.8353.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.62% at 96.28.
