Investing.com – Poland stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Developers and Banking sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 1.17% to hit a new all time low.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN), which rose 3.69% or 2.32 points to trade at 65.27 at the close. Meanwhile, Synthos SA (WA:SNS) added 2.79% or 0.11 points to end at 4.05 and Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) was up 1.95% or 0.05 points to 2.62 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which fell 9.61% or 0.98 points to trade at 9.22 at the close. Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) declined 5.57% or 0.39 points to end at 6.61 and Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) was down 3.83% or 2.28 points to 57.23.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 346 to 206 and 97 ended unchanged.
Shares in Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW) fell to all time lows; falling 9.61% or 0.98 to 9.22. Shares in Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR) fell to all time lows; falling 3.83% or 2.28 to 57.23.
Crude oil for February delivery was down 4.22% or 1.40 to $31.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 5.04% or 1.71 to hit $32.22 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.03% or 0.30 to trade at $1098.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.05% to 4.3652, while USD/PLN rose 0.35% to 4.0109.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 98.71.
