SYDNEY, Dec 8 (Reuters) - Australian Treasurer Scott Morrison on Tuesday named the former head of investment bank Macquarie to be a member of the central bank's policy-setting board for a five-year term.
Allan Moss joins the Reserve Bank of Australia's (RBA) nine-member board to replace businessman Roger Corbett, who recently finished his second term.
Moss was managing director and CEO of Macquarie Group Limited until 2008. Moss currently runs his own investment company and is an advisor at Evans and Partners and the investment firm Anchorage Capital Partners.
Morrison said he was also reappointing Catherine Tanna for a second five-year term on the board. Tanna is managing director of EnergyAustralia, having worked across the gas and energy sector.
The RBA board comprises the central bank's Governor and Deputy governor, the Secretary to the Treasury and six non-executive members. It meets 11 times a year to set interest rates, with its next meeting on Feb. 2.
