SINGAPORE, Aug 8 (Reuters) - China's crude oil imports fell to a seven-month low in July, but were still up about 12 percent on a year ago, according to Reuters calculations based on official customs data released on Tuesday.

Imports for July were around 34.66 million tones or roughly 8.16 million barrels per day, based on Reuters calculations, which would be the lowest since January on a daily basis.

For the first seven months of the year, China imported 13.6 percent more crude oil at 247 million tonnes, the data showed.

China's natural gas imports expanded 20.7 percent year on year between January and July at 36.82 million tonnes.
