Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Basic Materials and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 1.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Alior Bank SA (WA:ALRR), which rose 5.51% or 3.58 points to trade at 68.54 at the close. Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE) added 1.00% or 0.03 points to end at 3.04 and Energa SA (WA:ENGP) was up 0.84% or 0.11 points to 13.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CCC SA (WA:CCCP), which lost 5.48% or 8.75 points to trade at 151.00 in late trade. Gornictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo SA (WA:PGN) declined 3.20% or 0.17 points to end at 5.15 and Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) shed 3.17% or 3.05 points to 93.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 284 to 236 and 166 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for May delivery was down 3.52% or 1.35 to $36.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 3.79% or 1.53 to hit $38.80 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 1.63% or 20.20 to trade at $1215.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.17% to 4.2492, while USD/PLN rose 0.10% to 3.7314.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.02% at 94.67.
