Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction & Materials, Financials and Beverage sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 2.44%.
The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Delta Lloyd (AMS:DLL), which rose 5.66% or 0.41 points to trade at 7.71 at the close. Meanwhile, Ackermans V.Haaren (BRU:ACKB) added 3.55% or 4.60 points to end at 134.00 and UCB (BRU:UCB) was up 3.53% or 2.51 points to 73.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NV Bekaert SA (BRU:BEKB), which fell 0.02% or 0.01 points to trade at 23.38 at the close. Elia (BRU:ELI) added 0.66% or 0.280 points to end at 42.740 and Telenet Group (BRU:TNET) was up 1.20% or 0.62 points to 52.39.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 114 to 38 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Elia (BRU:ELI) rose to all time highs; rising 0.66% or 0.280 to 42.740. Shares in UCB (BRU:UCB) rose to 52-week highs; up 3.53% or 2.51 to 73.52.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.69% or 8.00 to $1145.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.85% or 0.38 to hit $45.29 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.16% or 0.07 to trade at $48.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1199, while EUR/GBP rose 0.18% to 0.7379.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 96.39.
