Investing.com - U.S. inflation was flat in November, but underlying inflation rose, which could encourage the Fed to raise interest rates this week.
Consumer prices were unchanged from a month earlier, in line with forecasts after a gain of 0.2% in October.
But the core consumer price index, which excludes food and energy, increased 0.2%, the third straight monthly gain.
Most investors expect the U.S. central bank to raise interest rates for the first time since June 2006 at its upcoming meeting on Wednesday.
