Investing.com – Netherlands equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Oil & Gas and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the AEX were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which rose 2.96% or 0.136 points to trade at 4.723 at the close. SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) added 2.68% or 0.28 points to end at 10.94 and NN Group (AS:NN) was up 1.43% or 0.42 points to 29.89 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN), which lost 2.04% or 0.66 points to trade at 31.50 in late trade. Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) declined 0.81% or 0.29 points to end at 35.73 and ASML Holding (AS:ASML) shed 0.51% or 0.45 points to 88.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 87 to 78 and 13 ended unchanged on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.52% to 21.37.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 1.81% or 0.88 to $49.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 1.47% or 0.73 to hit $50.37 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.26% or 3.25 to trade at $1246.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.06% to 1.1360, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.7860.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 93.97.
