Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Consumer Services and Building & Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 1.45%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Viscofan (MC:VIS), which rose 4.62% or 1.970 points to trade at 44.615 at the close. Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS) added 3.62% or 0.214 points to end at 6.134 and BBVA (MC:BBVA) was up 3.13% or 0.194 points to 6.390 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tecnicas Reunidas (MC:TRE), which lost 0.05% or 0.015 points to trade at 32.780 in late trade. Gas Natural (MC:GAS) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 17.200 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) gained 0.11% or 0.01 points to 14.21.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 154 to 45 and 20 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.86% or 24.25 to $1280.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.54% or 0.24 to hit $44.31 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.04 to trade at $45.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.98% to 1.1031, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.8906.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.95% at 97.86.
