Investing.com – Spain equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 added 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the IBEX 35 were ACS Const. (MC:ACS), which rose 2.45% or 0.780 points to trade at 32.640 at the close. B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) added 2.04% or 0.033 points to end at 1.647 and Acerinox (MC:ACX) was up 1.89% or 0.245 points to 13.245 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Gamesa (MC:GAM), which lost 3.42% or 0.760 points to trade at 21.490 in late trade. Grifols SA (MC:GRLS) declined 0.83% or 0.195 points to end at 23.195 and Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) shed 0.68% or 0.10 points to 15.32.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 119 to 51 and 9 ended unchanged on the Madrid Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.74% or 9.25 to $1249.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.45% or 0.23 to hit $51.26 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.57% or 0.31 to trade at $54.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.0654, while EUR/GBP fell 0.43% to 0.8540.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.15% at 100.57.
