Investing.com – Peru equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Non-Metal Minerals, Industrials and Mining sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lima, the S&P Lima General declined 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the S&P Lima General were Backus Johnsto (LM:BKJi), which rose 3.45% or 0.500 points to trade at 15.000 at the close. Edegel (LM:EDE) added 2.94% or 0.090 points to end at 3.150 and Cerro Verde (LM:CVE) was up 0.84% or 0.160 points to 19.170 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buenaventura (LM:BVN), which lost 5.00% or 0.800 points to trade at 15.200 in late trade. Sider (LM:SID) declined 2.35% or 0.010 points to end at 0.415 and Grana Y Monter (LM:GRA) shed 1.90% or 0.110 points to 5.690.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 15 to 7 and 10 ended unchanged on the Lima Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 3.52% or 1.73 to $47.38 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.20% or 0.10 to hit $49.09 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.24% or 3.25 to trade at $1342.95 a troy ounce.
USD/PEN was down 0.03% to 3.3485, while EUR/PEN unchanged 0.00% to 3.7513.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 94.52.
