Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Energy, Basic Materials and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 fell 0.40%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP), which rose 7.38% or 0.55 points to trade at 8.00 at the close. Grupa Azoty SA (WA:ATTP) added 4.81% or 2.91 points to end at 63.36 and OrangePL (WA:OPL) was up 3.35% or 0.19 points to 5.86 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurocash SA (WA:EUR), which lost 3.98% or 1.71 points to trade at 41.28 in late trade. CCC SA (WA:CCCP) declined 3.48% or 5.90 points to end at 163.50 and LPP SA (WA:LPPP) shed 3.30% or 134.75 points to 3945.25.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 246 to 242 and 204 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.78% or 0.78 to $43.13 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.31% or 0.61 to hit $45.98 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.51% or 6.75 to trade at $1311.25 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.25% to 4.3157, while USD/PLN rose 0.52% to 3.8677.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.73% at 95.98.
