Investing.com – Finland equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Helsinki, the OMX Helsinki 25 rose 1.06% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the OMX Helsinki 25 were UPM-Kymmene Oyj (HE:UPM), which rose 7.10% or 1.64 points to trade at 24.75 at the close. Metso Oyj (HE:METSO) added 5.69% or 1.67 points to end at 31.01 and Outokumpu Oyj (HE:OUT1V) was up 2.58% or 0.2450 points to 9.7400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Valmt (HE:VALMT), which lost 1.31% or 0.22 points to trade at 16.63 in late trade. Elisa Oyj (HE:ELISA) declined 1.13% or 0.36 points to end at 31.60 and KONE Oyj (HE:KNEBV) shed 1.12% or 0.50 points to 44.27.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 90 to 49 and 13 ended unchanged on the Helsinki Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.27% or 0.14 to $51.99 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $49.05 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 1.02% or 13.03 to trade at $1264.47 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.71% to 1.0944, while EUR/GBP rose 0.40% to 0.8528.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 98.65.
