Investing.com – Philippines stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Banking & Financials and Mining & Oil sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite gained 0.19%.
The best performers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Jollibee Foods (PS:JFC), which rose 2.10% or 4.400 points to trade at 214.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Phi Long Dis T (PS:TEL) added 2.02% or 46.00 points to end at 2326.00 and Metropolitan B (PS:MBT) was up 1.33% or 1.00 points to 76.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Philex Mining (PS:PX), which fell 4.07% or 0.230 points to trade at 5.420 at the close. Intl Container (PS:ICT) declined 2.03% or 1.200 points to end at 57.800 and Gt Capital Hol (PS:GTCAP) was down 1.22% or 15.000 points to 1215.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Philippines Stock Exchange by 98 to 63 and 33 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was up 0.01% or 0.10 to $1208.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.00% or 0.01 to hit $29.05 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.19% or 0.06 to trade at $32.24 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.19% to 7.2992, while USD/PHP rose 0.32% to 47.630.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 96.74.
