Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 gained 0.17% to hit a new 6-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 5.28% or 0.1150 points to trade at 2.2950 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 3.17% or 0.1650 points to end at 5.3690 and REN (LS:RENE) was up 1.97% or 0.0530 points to 2.7400 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which lost 6.34% or 0.0180 points to trade at 0.2660 in late trade. Ibersol SGPS (LS:IBS) declined 4.11% or 0.600 points to end at 14.000 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) shed 2.16% or 0.009 points to 0.408.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 22 to 15 and 3 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.19% or 0.10 to $52.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $49.73 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.17% or 2.12 to trade at $1265.08 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.0873, while EUR/GBP fell 0.38% to 0.8479.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.41% at 99.12.
