Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP), which rose 1.84% or 0.2250 points to trade at 12.4350 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 1.38% or 0.099 points to end at 7.299 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was up 1.24% or 0.1850 points to 15.1600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 5.45% or 0.0011 points to trade at 0.0191 in late trade. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 2.31% or 0.0800 points to end at 3.3860 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 2.01% or 0.0140 points to 0.6820.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 26 to 24 and 5 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for October delivery was down 3.45% or 1.50 to $42.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 3.73% or 1.55 to hit $40.05 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.17% or 2.25 to trade at $1359.75 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1168, while EUR/GBP rose 0.14% to 0.8459.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 95.64.
