Investing.com – Norway equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Materials and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 1.20% to hit a new all time high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Petroleum Geo - Services ASA (OL:PGS), which rose 6.28% or 1.68 points to trade at 28.25 at the close. Seadrill Limited (OL:SDRL) added 4.27% or 1.1 points to end at 26.9 and Bw Lpg (OL:BWLPG) was up 4.25% or 1.38 points to 33.84 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL:NWC), which lost 5.72% or 17.0 points to trade at 280.0 in late trade. Storebrand ASA (OL:STB) declined 2.67% or 1.25 points to end at 45.49 and Marine Harvest ASA (OL:MHG) shed 0.99% or 1.50 points to 150.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 109 to 97 and 26 ended unchanged on the Oslo Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was down 1.77% or 0.90 to $50.03 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February fell 1.37% or 0.74 to hit $53.19 a barrel, while the February Gold contract rose 0.75% or 8.75 to trade at $1178.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/NOK was down 0.08% to 9.0041, while USD/NOK fell 0.42% to 8.3713.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.24% at 100.27.
