Investing.com – Portugal equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 0.72% or 0.051 points to trade at 7.096 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) added 0.64% or 0.0900 points to end at 14.1850 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was up 0.54% or 0.0650 points to 12.1300 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 7.51% or 0.0016 points to trade at 0.0197 in late trade. Sonae (LS:YSO) declined 2.56% or 0.0210 points to end at 0.8000 and Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) shed 2.24% or 0.0130 points to 0.5670.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 28 to 18 and 6 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for August delivery was down 1.50% or 0.76 to $49.89 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.54% or 0.77 to hit $49.19 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.63% or 21.05 to trade at $1271.05 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.55% to 1.1253, while EUR/GBP fell 0.31% to 0.7676.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 94.08.
