Investing.com – Morocco equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Mining, Hotels, Restaurants & Leisure and Real Estate sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Casablanca, the Moroccan All Shares declined 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Moroccan All Shares were Nexans Maroc (CS:NEX), which rose 9.87% or 15.05 points to trade at 167.40 at the close. Sothema (CS:SOT) added 5.98% or 70 points to end at 1240 and Brasseries Du Maroc (CS:SBM) was up 5.94% or 94 points to 1676 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cartier Saada (CS:CRS), which lost 9.74% or 1.94 points to trade at 17.96 in late trade. Managem (CS:MNG) declined 5.11% or 45 points to end at 835 and Lesieur Cristal (CS:LESU) shed 3.76% or 4.90 points to 125.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 21 to 19 and 10 ended unchanged on the Casablanca Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.99% or 0.88 to $43.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 2.21% or 1.01 to hit $44.79 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.19% or 2.40 to trade at $1252.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/MAD was down 0.07% to 10.9310, while USD/MAD fell 0.03% to 9.6795.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 94.58.
