SAO PAULO, Dec 18 (Reuters) - Brazil has made good on an industry promise to export more beef this year than in the last, a sign that supplies kept up despite the COVID-19 pandemic that disrupted production in countries like the United States and Australia, according to beef lobby Abiec.
The South American nation's exports hit an unprecedented $8.533 billion this year, with volumes reaching an unseen 2.020 million tonnes, according to Abiec projections shared on Friday. Last year, Brazilian beef exports were $7.6 billion and volumes totaled 1.866 million tonnes.
