Investing.com – Malaysia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Construction, Property and Plantation sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Kuala Lumpur, the FTSE Malaysia KLCI declined 0.15%.
The best performers of the session on the FTSE Malaysia KLCI were Felda Global Ventures Holdings Bhd (KL:FGVH), which rose 1.20% or 0.02 points to trade at 1.69 at the close. Meanwhile, Hong Leong Bank Bhd (KL:HLBB) added 1.04% or 0.14 points to end at 13.58 and Petronas Gas Bhd (KL:PGAS) was up 0.56% or 0.12 points to 21.46 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Astro Malaysia Holdings Bhd (KL:ASTR), which fell 2.96% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.95 at the close. Hong Leong Financial Group Bhd (KL:HLCB) declined 2.28% or 0.36 points to end at 15.46 and MISC Bhd (KL:MISC) was down 1.74% or 0.14 points to 7.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange by 301 to 243 and 60 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.08% or 0.04 to $51.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.29% or 0.17 to hit $56.94 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.59% or 18.00 to trade at $1113.90 a troy ounce.
SGD/MYR was down 0.03% to 2.7765, while USD/MYR rose 0.32% to 3.8110.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.08% at 98.17.
