Investing.com – Poland equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Energy, Media and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 declined 0.89%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the WIG30 were Jastrzebska Spotka Weglowa SA (WA:JSW), which rose 2.94% or 2.50 points to trade at 87.50 at the close. Synthos SA (WA:SNS) added 1.82% or 0.080 points to end at 4.480 and Globe Trade Centre SA (WA:GTCP) was up 1.63% or 0.13 points to 8.13 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tauron Polska Energia SA (WA:TPE), which lost 4.04% or 0.110 points to trade at 2.610 in late trade. Energa SA (WA:ENGP) declined 3.74% or 0.30 points to end at 7.72 and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna SA (WA:PGE) shed 2.93% or 0.28 points to 9.28.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 302 to 223 and 208 ended unchanged on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.89% or 1.33 to $47.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 2.59% or 1.25 to hit $49.49 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.90% or 10.60 to trade at $1189.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was up 0.19% to 4.4284, while USD/PLN rose 0.41% to 4.1879.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 101.52.
