BOGOTA, Feb 8 (Reuters) - The largest union at Colombia's top thermal coal mine Cerrejon has reached an eleventh-hour salary and benefits deal with the company, avoiding a planned strike, the union said on Thursday.
The company, equally owned by BHP Billiton BLT.L , Anglo American AAL.L and Glencore GLEN.L , has agreed to a salary hike of 6.1 percent for this year.
