Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Basic Materials, Technology Hardware & Equipment and Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were DSM Kon (AMS:DSMN), which rose 4.11% or 1.83 points to trade at 46.35 at the close. Meanwhile, Akzo Nobel (AMS:AKZO) added 3.65% or 2.13 points to end at 60.44 and Wolters Kluwer (AMS:WLSNc) was up 1.80% or 0.51 points to 28.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ING Groep NV (AMS:ING), which fell 1.87% or 0.245 points to trade at 12.860 at the close. Randstad (AMS:RAND) declined 1.51% or 0.80 points to end at 52.15 and Heineken (AMS:HEIN) was down 1.46% or 1.08 points to 72.84.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 114 to 59 and 4 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 6.02% to 23.89 a new 1-month low.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 3.37% or 1.61 to $49.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 3.40% or 1.75 to hit $53.08 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.51% or 5.90 to trade at $1142.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.1283, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.7364.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.28% at 95.39.
