MELBOURNE, Oct 18 (Reuters) - The global market for nickel swung into a wider deficit of 6,700 tonnes in August from the month before, data from the International Nickel Study Institute showed on Wednesday.
Global refined nickel production was unchanged for the month at 176,800 tonnes, while demand grew to 183,500 tonnes, from 182,500 tonnes the month earlier, the data showed.
July's deficit was revised up to 5,700 tonnes from 4,700 tonnes.
