Investing.com – Philippines equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Mining & Oil, Services and Property sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Philippines, the PSEi Composite declined 0.03%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSEi Composite were Metropolitan Bank and Trust Co (PS:MBT), which rose 1.75% or 1.45 points to trade at 84.45 at the close. Aboitiz Equity Ventures Inc (PS:AEV) added 1.56% or 1.000 points to end at 65.000 and Aboitiz Power Corp (PS:AP) was up 1.36% or 0.60 points to 44.75 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bloomberry Resorts Corp (PS:BLOOM), which lost 3.23% or 0.150 points to trade at 4.490 in late trade. Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PS:TEL) declined 1.90% or 35.00 points to end at 1810.00 and Petron Corp (PS:PCOR) shed 1.82% or 0.200 points to 10.800.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 95 to 81 and 50 ended unchanged on the Philippines Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for June delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1250.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.95% or 0.41 to hit $43.59 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.79% or 0.35 to trade at $44.88 a barrel.
CNY/PHP was up 0.38% to 7.1896, while USD/PHP rose 0.56% to 46.687.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 94.73.
