Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Halcor (AT:XAKO), which rose 7.69% or 0.021 points to trade at 0.297 at the close. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 4.44% or 0.1000 points to end at 2.3500 and Euro Reliance (AT:EREr) was up 4.27% or 0.070 points to 1.710 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Autohellas (AT:AUTr), which lost 8.94% or 1.05 points to trade at 10.70 in late trade. Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) declined 6.37% or 0.041 points to end at 0.603 and Iaso (AT:IASr) shed 5.62% or 0.023 points to 0.400.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 53 to 36 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 1.15% or 15.45 to $1330.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.66% or 1.28 to hit $46.82 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.82% or 0.91 to trade at $49.05 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.51% to 1.1248, while EUR/GBP fell 0.78% to 0.8498.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.37% at 94.85.
