Investing.com – Portugal equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 1.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 6.66% or 0.0430 points to trade at 0.6890 at the close. Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA) added 6.18% or 0.494 points to end at 8.494 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was up 5.29% or 0.0550 points to 1.0950 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which lost 3.68% or 0.0006 points to trade at 0.0157 in late trade. The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) declined 0.49% or 0.0130 points to end at 2.6180 and Sonae (LS:YSO) shed 0.15% or 0.0010 points to 0.6590.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 32 to 12 and 7 ended unchanged on the Lisbon Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Brent oil for November delivery was up 1.11% or 0.51 to $46.28 a barrel. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.08% or 0.47 to hit $44.09 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.51% or 6.65 to trade at $1316.85 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1177, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8571.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.34% at 95.73.
