The option is an active absolute return strategy that invests in a range of domestic and international fixed income securities denominated in various currencies. With a focus on managing downside risk, the option has the flexibility to invest in cash and other debt securities (such as government bonds) to help preserve capital during downturns in the credit cycle. In adopting an absolute return approach, the most critical element of the investment process is to identify which assets to own and when to own them.

Biography | Stuart is responsible for the Fixed Income business in Australia. He leads investment decision making for Schroders’ fixed income portfolios and is the portfolio manager for the Schroder Fixed Income Fund and several other fixed income strategies. His responsibilities include the development of fixed income process and strategy across the team’s product set, and co-ordinating the research and implementation functions of the fixed income team. Stuart has extensive experience spanning more than 20 years across fixed income, currency and equity markets. He joined Schroders in October 2012 following tenures at Aberdeen Asset Management, and previously Credit Suisse Asset Management. Stuart holds a BEc(Hons) from the University of Sydney and is a CFA Charterholder. | ||

Biography | Mihkel joined Schroders in June 2003 and is responsible for Schroders absolute return fixed income strategies, including the Schroder Absolute Return Income Fund, and has a focus on credit portfolio management. Prior to joining Schroders, Mihkel spent six years at BT Financial Group, most recently as the Head of Credit Wealth Management and prior to that as a credit analyst in BT's Funds Management Division. Mihkel holds a Bachelor of Economics and Government from the University of Sydney. He is a qualified chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. |
