Chewing Gum - The Patron

I still remember a time when I didn’t have a care in the world!

We would come home from school, change clothes and grab the fishing rod while shouting to mom that we’d be down at the beach. Back then I only wanted to go fishing, although today my desire is not entirely dissimilar. I am aware of the consequences I would face if I came home after work, changed clothes and grabbed my fishing rod while shouting to my wife “I’ll be right back” Some people would consider this to be a method of orchidectomy…

Being prepared and planning is an important part of life’s many lessons. Many of us will reach retirement one day, and either reap the benefits or suffer the consequences of the financial seeds we sow.

I’m sure we can all see Australia’s economy is struggling at the moment, and many of us are wondering if the 25 year streak has finally peaked?

If you’re living in Western Australia, then you’d probably think it peaked end of last year.

I am not able to change the economic conditions of Australia, neither can you, and yet we still can’t resist reading and discussing about the topic with each other, which in turn causes many to worry.

Mary Schmich once said, “Worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum.”

“Worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum.”

If we cannot change the current financial climate, then we must put effort into financially investing for our future, for this is where we hold the power of true change.

It is has been 2 months to the day since I stepped into the ASX and I grow more confident each and every day. The confidence is my family will have a better future through the decisions I make and the investments I choose.

Currently I have chosen to invest heavily in some young Australian gold and silver mines. I believe my entry was close to the bottom of gold’s dip and if correct then next year we would see an increase in the price of gold and the gold miners alike.

For now there is little movement, and I feel the nerves starting to itch as gold skips around, leaving us in suspense.

Think I’ll take Mary Schmick’s advice about the chewing gum.

Yours Faithfully

The Patron
