Valor Resources Ltd (ASX:VAL) has strengthened the skillset of its board with the appointment of experienced exploration executive Robin Wilson as technical director.
The appointment will enhance the core skills of the company as it increases exploration activities in Canada and Peru.
Following Wilson’s appointment to the board, Brian McMaster retired as director following more than a decade of service to the company.
“Outstanding contribution”
Valor executive chairman George Bauk said: “Robin has made an outstanding contribution to Valor Resources over the past 15 months and his promotion to the board as technical director makes perfect sense.
“I have worked with Robin for the past 12 years and respect Robin’s passion, knowledge and integrity.
“I would also like to thank Brian McMaster for his contribution to the company for over a decade.
“I would particularly like to thank Brian for his support over the past two years since I have joined the company and greatly assisted the company in building the portfolio we have today.”
Notable roles
Wilson has overseen the exploration activities of the company in Canada and Peru in the last 15 months and has been instrumental in the expansion of the asset base as well as advancing all projects through a comprehensive, structured and modern approach to exploration activities.
He has held senior exploration positions in several exploration and mining companies, including Polaris Metals, Tanganyika Gold, Troy Resources, CRA Exploration and Northern Minerals.
He has also spent five years working in oil and gas exploration for Woodside Energy.
Wilson said: "This is a fantastic time to be joining the board of Valor with its exciting portfolio of projects focused on the high demand commodities of copper and uranium.
“The countries and regions we are operating in, namely the Athabasca Basin in Canada for uranium and Peru for copper, are geologically two of the best regions in the world to be exploring for these commodities.
“I look forward to working with the Valor board and the rest of the team and rewarding Valor shareholders through exploration success.”
