Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Automobiles & Parts, Industrial Transportation and Real Estate Investment Trusts REITs sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 1.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Coca Cola HBC AG (LON:CCH), which rose 2.32% or 44.00 points to trade at 1,944.50 at the close. Rio Tinto PLC (LON:RIO) added 2.29% or 108.00 points to end at 4,828.00 and AVEVA Group PLC (LON:AVV) was up 1.13% or 35.00 points to 3,137.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ashtead Group PLC (LON:AHT), which lost 7.26% or 306.00 points to trade at 3,907.00 in late trade. Intermediate Capital Group PLC (LON:ICP) declined 7.09% or 83.00 points to end at 1,088.50 and Hargreaves Lansdown PLC (LON:HRGV) shed 6.64% or 59.20 points to 832.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1469 to 411 and 382 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.34% or 5.75 to $1,681.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.22% or 0.18 to hit $83.12 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.31% or 0.28 to trade at $90.11 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.56% at 110.96.
