Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrial Metals & Mining, Industrial Transportation and Construction & Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.95% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Tui AG (LON:TUIT), which rose 5.99% or 17.10 points to trade at 302.70 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG) added 4.94% or 7.04 points to end at 149.50 and EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) was up 3.92% or 23.80 points to 630.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anglo American PLC (LON:AAL), which lost 8.07% or 227.5 points to trade at 2591.0 in late trade. BHP Group PLC (LON:BHPB) declined 4.80% or 94.40 points to end at 1873.80 and Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO) shed 3.90% or 69.00 points to 1700.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1124 to 873 and 464 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.24% or 4.20 to $1752.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.03% or 0.75 to hit $71.81 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.85% or 0.64 to trade at $75.03 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.21% to 1.3759, while EUR/GBP fell 0.01% to 0.8529.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 93.123.
