Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Automobiles & Parts, Oil & Gas Producers and General Industrial sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 declined 0.93%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Halma PLC (LON:HLMA), which rose 3.18% or 62.50 points to trade at 2,028.00 at the close. National Grid PLC (LON:NG) added 2.10% or 20.80 points to end at 1,010.00 and Centrica PLC (LON:CNA) was up 1.15% or 1.70 points to 149.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Burberry Group PLC (LON:BRBY), which lost 11.15% or 194.50 points to trade at 1,550.00 in late trade. Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO) declined 6.17% or 36.80 points to end at 559.40 and Hargreaves Lansdown PLC (LON:HRGV) shed 5.84% or 44.00 points to 710.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1086 to 557 and 482 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.12% or 22.05 to $1,986.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 4.70% or 3.60 to hit $73.06 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 4.43% or 3.60 to trade at $77.58 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.24, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was unchanged 0.00% at 104.26.
