Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Real Estate Investment Trusts REITs, Real Estate and Fixed Line Telecommunications sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 lost 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Coca Cola HBC AG (LON:CCH), which rose 4.17% or 87.00 points to trade at 2,176.00 at the close. CRH PLC (LON:CRH) added 2.74% or 130.00 points to end at 4,873.00 and Admiral Group PLC (LON:ADML) was up 2.67% or 70.00 points to 2,692.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG), which lost 4.98% or 8.15 points to trade at 155.45 in late trade. Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO) declined 4.83% or 28.80 points to end at 567.00 and EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) shed 4.23% or 18.40 points to 417.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1040 to 585 and 499 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.16% or 22.95 to $2,003.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.58% or 0.45 to hit $77.38 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.50% or 0.41 to trade at $81.91 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.25% to 1.25, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.38.
