Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Automobiles & Parts, Industrial Engineering and Electronic & Electrical Equipment sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Centrica PLC (LON:CNA), which rose 1.91% or 1.58 points to trade at 84.26 at the close. BHP Group PLC (LON:BHPB) added 1.72% or 41.00 points to end at 2,428.00 and AstraZeneca PLC (LON:AZN) was up 1.69% or 190.00 points to 11,440.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tui AG (LON:TUIT), which lost 5.73% or 7.85 points to trade at 129.05 in late trade. EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) declined 4.83% or 18.50 points to end at 364.50 and Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust PLC (LON:SMT) shed 4.57% or 39.40 points to 822.80.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1482 to 367 and 450 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.87% or 15.35 to $1,747.55 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.34% or 1.21 to hit $89.23 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.27% or 1.23 to trade at $95.49 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.51% to 1.18, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.47% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.79% at 108.96.
