Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrial Metals & Mining, Insurance and Fixed Line Telecommunications sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 fell 0.20%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON:FLTRF), which rose 4.60% or 615.00 points to trade at 13,975.00 at the close. Tui AG (LON:TUIT) added 3.84% or 60.50 points to end at 1,636.00 and Land Securities Group PLC (LON:LAND) was up 3.36% or 22.20 points to 683.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Glencore PLC (LON:GLEN), which lost 3.92% or 20.50 points to trade at 502.50 in late trade. Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO) declined 3.71% or 20.40 points to end at 529.80 and Anglo American PLC (LON:AAL) shed 3.65% or 111.00 points to 2,931.50.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 985 to 854 and 465 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.02% or 0.35 to $1,854.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.61% or 0.49 to hit $80.17 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.09% or 0.08 to trade at $85.91 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.20, while EUR/GBP rose 0.57% to 0.89.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 104.28.
