Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrial Metals & Mining, Automobiles & Parts and Construction & Materials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 1.26%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Tui AG (LON:TUIT), which rose 6.12% or 20.00 points to trade at 347.00 at the close. Antofagasta PLC (LON:ANTO) added 5.30% or 68.00 points to end at 1350.00 and Anglo American PLC (LON:AAL) was up 5.17% or 130.5 points to 2656.5 in late trade.
Biggest losers included EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ), which lost 3.36% or 22.20 points to trade at 639.20 in late trade. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG) declined 1.88% or 3.38 points to end at 176.82 and NatWest Group PLC (LON:NWG) shed 1.36% or 3.10 points to 225.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1372 to 654 and 411 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.12% or 2.10 to $1759.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.34% or 1.04 to hit $78.47 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.37% or 1.11 to trade at $82.19 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.38% to 1.3632, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8479.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 94.157.
