Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Mobile Telecommunications, Forestry & Paper and Healthcare Equipment & Services sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG), which rose 3.06% or 13.90 points to trade at 468.60 at the close. EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) added 3.03% or 34.50 points to end at 1172.50 and NMC Health PLC (LON:NMC) was up 2.80% or 70.00 points to 2571.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Associated British Foods PLC (LON:ABF), which lost 1.81% or 40.00 points to trade at 2165.00 in late trade. Informa PLC (LON:INF) declined 1.76% or 14.00 points to end at 783.00 and Coca Cola HBC AG (LON:CCH) shed 1.66% or 43.0 points to 2546.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1254 to 874 and 208 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.52% or 7.80 to $1505.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.93% or 0.49 to hit $53.30 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.84% or 0.49 to trade at $58.86 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.16% to 1.2311, while EUR/GBP rose 0.22% to 0.8922.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 98.567.
