Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Financial Services and Electronic & Electrical Equipment sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were 3I Group PLC (LON:III), which rose 2.63% or 64.00 points to trade at 2,497.00 at the close. Auto Trader Group Plc (LON:AUTOA) added 2.42% or 17.40 points to end at 738.00 and Pershing Square Holdings Ltd (LON:PSHP) was up 2.20% or 82.00 points to 3,804.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Airtel Africa Plc (LON:AAF), which lost 5.15% or 6.20 points to trade at 114.30 in late trade. Mondi PLC (LON:MNDI) declined 3.22% or 47.40 points to end at 1,424.40 and Entain PLC (LON:ENT) shed 2.37% or 23.20 points to 957.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 961 to 780 and 701 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.46% or 9.45 to $2,054.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 1.46% or 1.12 to hit $77.90 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.90% or 0.74 to trade at $82.57 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.27, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 103.28.
