Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Mining, Automobiles & Parts and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 gained 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Fresnillo PLC (LON:FRES), which rose 3.96% or 27.20 points to trade at 713.60 at the close. Lloyds Banking Group PLC (LON:LLOY) added 3.53% or 1.43 points to end at 42.05 and Carnival PLC (LON:CCL) was up 3.34% or 20.40 points to 631.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ITV PLC (LON:ITV), which lost 4.20% or 2.84 points to trade at 64.84 in late trade. Vodafone Group PLC (LON:VOD) declined 2.41% or 2.44 points to end at 98.72 and Bunzl PLC (LON:BNZL) shed 2.09% or 58.00 points to 2,720.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 948 to 793 and 488 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.17% or 2.70 to $1,636.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.13% or 0.11 to hit $84.63 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.14% or 0.13 to trade at $92.28 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.19% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.09% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 112.70.
