Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Beverage, Automobiles & Parts and Oil & Gas Producers sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 gained 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC (LON:RB), which rose 3.09% or 205.00 points to trade at 6845.00 at the close. Experian PLC (LON:EXPN) added 2.77% or 43.00 points to end at 1598.00 and Travis Perkins PLC (LON:TPK) was up 2.46% or 37.00 points to 1542.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG), which lost 6.94% or 46.50 points to trade at 623.50 in late trade. The Berkeley Group Holdings plc (LON:BKGH) declined 3.47% or 137.00 points to end at 3807.00 and EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) shed 3.19% or 42.00 points to 1273.00.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1166 to 789 and 421 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.18% or 2.31 to $1271.91 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 2.05% or 1.08 to hit $53.72 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.62% or 0.96 to trade at $60.26 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.37% to 1.3112, while EUR/GBP fell 0.24% to 0.8832.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 94.95.
