Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Industrial Metals & Mining, Automobiles & Parts and Oil & Gas Producers sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 gained 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were NK Rosneft PAO DRC (LON:ROSNq), which rose 3.63% or 0.33 points to trade at 9.31 at the close. Antofagasta PLC (LON:ANTO) added 3.03% or 43.50 points to end at 1481.00 and Bank VTB PAO DRC (LON:VTBRq) was up 3.02% or 0.046 points to 1.570 in late trade.
Biggest losers included BAE Systems PLC (LON:BAES), which lost 2.65% or 15.60 points to trade at 574.00 in late trade. Smiths Group PLC (LON:SMIN) declined 2.29% or 32.50 points to end at 1390.00 and London Stock Exchange Group PLC (LON:LSEG) shed 2.00% or 152.0 points to 7448.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1005 to 948 and 505 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.75% or 13.45 to $1809.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.31% or 0.26 to hit $84.02 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.63% or 0.53 to trade at $85.17 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 0.10% to 1.3764, while EUR/GBP fell 0.35% to 0.8433.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 93.828.
