Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate Investment Trusts REITs, Real Estate and Household Goods & Home Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.17%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were DCC plc (LON:DCC), which rose 12.47% or 582.00 points to trade at 5,248.00 at the close. Ocado Group PLC (LON:OCDO) added 10.10% or 51.80 points to end at 564.60 and British Land Company PLC (LON:BLND) was up 9.70% or 31.00 points to 350.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Vodafone Group PLC (LON:VOD), which lost 5.54% or 4.29 points to trade at 73.11 in late trade. BAE Systems PLC (LON:BAES) declined 3.16% or 35.00 points to end at 1,073.00 and BT Group PLC (LON:BT) shed 2.77% or 3.40 points to 119.55.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 1250 to 442 and 420 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.95% or 18.55 to $1,968.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.79% or 0.62 to hit $78.88 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.79% or 0.65 to trade at $83.17 a barrel.
GBP/USD was up 1.68% to 1.25, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.87.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 1.33% at 104.10.
