Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrial Transportation, Real Estate Investment Trusts REITs and Real Estate sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 rose 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were JSC VTB Bank DRC (LON:VTBRq), which rose 6.98% or 0.054 points to trade at 0.828 at the close. International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:ICAG) added 6.85% or 6.85 points to end at 106.85 and EasyJet PLC (LON:EZJ) was up 5.67% or 28.00 points to 521.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hargreaves Lansdown PLC (LON:HRGV), which lost 2.02% or 28.50 points to trade at 1380.50 in late trade. Taylor Wimpey PLC (LON:TW) declined 1.83% or 2.15 points to end at 115.15 and Avast PLC (LON:AVST) shed 1.82% or 9.50 points to 513.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 1127 to 1036 and 182 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.11% or 2.05 to $1913.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.78% or 0.32 to hit $41.38 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.42% or 0.18 to trade at $42.80 a barrel.
GBP/USD was down 0.05% to 1.2940, while EUR/GBP rose 0.65% to 0.9144.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 93.043.
